"Upon relocating to our current surroundings, I was captivated by these odd trees I witnessed. Odd, lumpy shapes such as I had never laid my eyes upon so far. In midst of winter, I anticipated what spring might bring to these unique growths. Alas, when new growth came I confirmed my suspicions that these were, indeed, tilias. Mutilated tilias but nonetheless those. After many, many drawings it took a while to find THE setting in which I wanted to paint these in but finally, here we are. Lumpy tilias, best."
